LOW CARBON GORDANO
Low Carbon Gordano Limited is a form of co-operative called a Community Benefit Society, sometimes called a BenCom. LCG’s purpose is to help the local community to reduce energy costs and become more sustainable by reducing the carbon footprint. They raise funds to enable them to install renewable energy systems and use the surplus income from these systems, via a Community Fund to enable work that reduces energy consumption – for example, by improving the school's energy efficiency.
THE TASK
UNIQUE SOLAR BILLING OF THE SCHOOL FOR PV ENERGY USED, AT A DISCOUNT
RWG Solar provides billing, performance measurement and solar PV reporting for a number of sites for Low Carbon Gordano. Our qualified solar electrician fitted a couple of new smart meters here. The installation was completed in one day and did not disturb the existing PV equipment.

It now automatically sends a bill to the Client. The school gets discounted electricity for solar power they have used ! We automatically re-bill the energy from the solar PV system to pay back the investment used to fund the system. This is unique!

Our monitoring system provides a clear picture of the overall energy flows on the school. It also drives the interbnal display at the school and shows any faults! Lost solar PV production could cost £2,500 per quarter.
